Tom Abruzzo has been specializing in contingency planning for 30 years, since 1977.  He is the president and founder of TAMP Systems and author of numerous articles as well as the book, "Recovering Your Business."

Tom is also the original developer of the planning software product named the Disaster Recovery System (DRS™), which enables companies to create, manage, and keep business continuity and disaster recovery plans up to date. 

In 2005, Tom and TAMP was inducted into the CPM Hall of Fame, which is an independent organization that recognizes significant contributions in the field of business continuity.  From 2004 to 2007, Tom was the chairperson of the Contingency Planning Exchange Group (CPE) Long Island Chapter, which is an education and information sharing group of practitioners.  Tom is currently a board member of the CPE. 

Tom is recognized as the developer of the first contingency plan for a major financial institution.  Tom and his company has and is currently providing solutions for the continuity of business and operations in industries such as:  Banks, Credit Unions, Distribution, Education, Energy, Government, Insurance, Investment, Lotteries, Manufacturing, Municipalities, Museums, Health Care, Government, Services, Securities, and others.
