Marv Wainschel directs internal and external education for Eagle Rock Alliance, Ltd., a consulting firm specializing in enterprise and IT resiliency.  At Eagle Rock, Mr. Wainschel serves roles in project management, workshop development, and subject-matter expertise for the firm’s practice consultants.  Mr. Wainschel has over 23 years experience in Business Continuity engagements for many prestigious firms in the New York area and nationwide.  Eagle Rock Alliance is an avid supporter of the Contingency Planning Exchange.

Mr. Wainschel is an accomplished speaker, author of books on Business Continuity, and author of many articles published in major magazines.  He has a broad and deep background in Business Continuity Planning methodologies. His research and field experience since 1983 shaped many of the common BCP practices in use today.  The ground-breaking concepts published in Mr. Wainschel’s books, Recovery-Site Selection Strategies and Knowledge at Risk, along with numerous industry articles, are accepted as conventional wisdom and have found their way into customary industry practice.  He received the 2003 IDRA Achievement Award for professional contributions and service towards the general advancement of Contingency Planning.

Mr. Wainschel has been a member of the CPE since 1987 and of its Board of Directors since 1993.  He is currently on the committee for Marketing and Communications.  He spearheaded CPE strategic planning sessions in 1994.  In 1995, Mr. Wainschel coordinated the first CPE interactive session, a workshop on "Workplace Recovery."  Pursuing the goal of membership interaction in CPE sessions, Mr. Wainschel conducted three "Inquiry Sessions" for the CPE in 1999 and has encouraged the pursuit of increased membership participation ever since.
