Having over 13 years in the private security industry, Frank Catalano currently serves as the Assistant Director of Security at the New York Institute of Technology on Long Island.   Frank is responsible for daily Security Operations; including investigations, state mandated drills, and security preparedness programs. He also serves as the liaison for the college with their contracted Security vendor, and oversees all annual security related budget issues.

Prior to his current position, Frank was a Security Manager for AlliedBarton Security Services. Assigned to the New York Institute of Technology, he was responsible for meeting the staffing levels, training, and supervision of Security Officers assigned to the site. 

Frank has been a dedicated and active member of the Long Island College & University Security Consortium for 6 years, a member of ASIS Long Island (American Society for Industrial Security International) for 3 years, currently serving as membership chairman; He is also a member of LI-CPE (Long Island Contingency Planning Exchange) for 2 years, and just recently became a member of IACLEA (International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators).

Through these and other various organizations, Frank has developed many professional relationships and affiliations within the industry. He maintains a good rapport with local law enforcement officials & fire agencies and serves as a valuable resource to the security community.

Frank is currently studying for a degree in Behavioral Science/Criminal Justice, and just earned the CPP Certification through ASIS. This certification is recognized as the highest in the Security Industry. Frank holds various other certifications in Security and Emergency Management. He recently earned the title of CERT (Citizens Emergency Response Team) instructor. Frank resides in Wantagh, NY with his two daughters.
