The Washington Chapter of the Contingency Planning Exchange (CPE) a not for profit professional organization whose mission is to advance and help shape the state of emergency preparedness and continuity policy, in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. It does so by supporting and encouraging collaborative public/private relationships and providing members with information, networking opportunities and education related to contingency planning and risk management.
Founded in 1985, CPE is dedicated to keeping its members on the cutting edge of information and trends related to keeping business, industry and government running during and after an emergency.
CPE provides informational, educational and networking forums geared to information sharing among its members. A focus of the Washington DC Chapter is to assure that federal continuity planning is informed of federal best practices; and assure private industry continuity planning is informed of federal best practices; and assure that vital dependencies between private and public continuity plans are scrutinized to the extent possible among the planning communities.
In addition to our standard membership benefits, our chapter promotes both informational and educational roundtables and less formal networking sessions.
The CPE-DC will host two half-day conferences each year. Additional meetings focusing on specific topics of interest may also be hosted throughout the year.
